Fibromyalgia Support Net is a web portal site that sets out to make finding information about Fibromyalgia quick and easy.

About Chiropractic

Chiropractic is a primary health-care profession that specialises in the diagnosis, treatment and overall management of conditions that are due to problems with the joints, ligaments, tendons and nerves of the body, particularly those of the spine.

Treatment consists of a wide range of manipulative techniques designed to improve the function of the joints, relieving pain and muscle spasm.

Chiropractic does not involve the use of any drugs or surgery.

Many Fibromyalgia sufferers have reported good results with treatment, and it may we worth contacting a practitioner in your area for a preliminary discussion before undertaking any treatment. The cost of treatment can be high as regular visits are usually required for long term and lasting benefits.

Some practitioners offer detailed testing facilities which will require 30-40 minutes to have an in depth consultation, physical examination, which includes an EMG scan (electromyography) (see links below for more details)

The British Chiropractic Association http://www.chiropractic-uk.co.uk Founded over 80 years ago, is the largest and longest-established association for chiropractors in the UK. Please feel free to browse their site for more information about chiropractic. You can search for a BCA chiropractor in your area using the search facility to the right of their home page.

All the BCA member chiropractors listed are registered with the UK regulatory body, The General Chiropractic Council and have received a full-time chiropractic degree education to internationally accredited standards.  For more information about education follow this link.

Finding a chiropractor outside the UK

The British Chiropractic Association is a member of both the European Chiropractors Union (ECU) and the World Federation of Chiropractic (WFC).
If you are resident or travelling abroad or moving to another country and want to locate a chiropractor in your destination country, use the links here to find a qualified chiropractor.

Europe: Click here to go to the website of the European Chiropractors Union. You will find the member countries displayed.  Click on the country flag required and you can then search by town/city for chiropractors who belong to the member association of that country.

International: Click here to go to the website of the World Federation of Chiropractic.  You can find links for each different member country and in many cases, the websites for these countries will have a facility to search for a chiropractor. Where this is not the case, a contact telephone number or e-mail address is given.
